Kinesio Tape

Kinesiology tape is designed to mimic the skin’s elasticity so you can use your full range of motion, unlike other medical or sport tapes.

The stretched tape lifting the skin which helps to create a microscopic space between your skin and the tissues underneath it. Helping lymphatic drainage and increasing blood flow, while decompressing the pain receptors.

I don’t think it can make you stronger or faster ( even though, some provider claim that) but it definitely can give you that small extra support which helps you keep doing want you want to be doing.

Sports strapping

Rigid tape is often used to prevent re-injury by restricting a joint from going into a range that will cause injury. If a ligament or muscle has been sprained or strained the tape can be applied to take pressure and load off those structures.

Soft tissue structures can weaken or atrophy when not in use for periods of time so this form of strapping & taping should be applied when the area in question will have an increase load or be more vulnerable, during a sport activity. Not for long periods of time.

Kinesiology and sport taping / strapping is now available.

I have been using Kinesio taping for ages with some excellent results.

It is not a magic tape and will not make all of your pain goes away, eventhough there are some ambitious claims around it.

Have a try and decide for yourself.
